Meet Our Sister: Minneapolis Vintage Market

A MN shopping experience you won’t forget

You may be familiar with our Craft Markets, but did you know we also run a sister business, Minneapolis Vintage Market?! MVM launched when a group of vendors got together after the craft market hosted a number of successful vintage events to advocate for doing more of just that - establishing a regular outlet of pop-ups for vintage traders and customers to connect around the Twin Cities. Recognizing that there was a gap in the Twin Cities for this kind of pop-up event to be hosted on a regular schedule, the craft market team jumped at the chance to cater to vintage enthusiasts and collectors by offering a monthly marketplace of curated, one-of-a-kind goods. Since our inception in 2018, the Minneapolis Vintage Markets have gained an incredibly tight knit and dedicated following of shoppers and supporters. We have been able to cultivate a close community of vintage sellers, and because of this, each monthly market feels like it’s own little reunion!

Over the past few years we have hosted Vintage markets all over the Twin Cities, from Machine Shop to Utepils Brewing and so many other unique locations in between. An added benefit of our vintage markets, and something we are proud to cultivate, is an emphasis on sustainability through secondhand purchasing. If you follow along on our instagram page, you may have seen some information around this idea. Here are a few valuable tidbits:

  • An estimated 9 billion garments are hardly worn or sitting idle in consumers’ closets

  • 80% of Gen Z says there’s no negative stigma associated with secondhand shopping

  • Only 10% of the clothes people donate to thrift stores or charities get sold

  • It takes 1,800 gallons of water to make a pair of jeans

  • We are on track to produce 100 million tons of clothing annually by 2030

  • 1 in 5 Americans will thrift shop during any given year

We are so proud to be doing our part to encourage secondhand shopping. Repurposing can be FUN and it’s truly satisfying to find one of a kind pieces of clothing, home goods, shoes, etc. to give new life to.
